Biography

Dr. Ibrahim Ankaoglu is a scholar of economic anthropology and global history with over 20 years of teaching and research experience. He is an Associate Staff Member in the Department of Anthropology at the University of Lucerne, where he completed his SNSF-funded PhD project, and has conducted fieldwork in Southeast Asia while teaching at various European institutions. His research interests focus on economic and political anthropology, globalization, global economic and migration history, with a particular emphasis on East and Southeast Asia. His forthcoming book on subsistence economies and anarchic structures in Palawan, Philippines, highlights his distinctive contribution to the field.
